Errors opening up new horizons

June 7, 2025 – Villa Arrighi

Popular Conference.

Speakers: Paola Catapano (scientific journalist ) and Patrizia Caraveo (astrophysicist).

Science is not infallible: its strength lies in learning from mistakes so as to improve human knowledge. Nowadays we give for granted the existence of extrasolar planets, of gravitational waves, but getting to the first “sure” revelation took years of efforts based upon determination, creativity, technological innovation and the ability to exploit false alarms to improve research methods.

Guided visits

Guided visits to the exhibitions will be held on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 June at 17:00, 18:00 and 19:00.
